RADIO MI AMIGO INTERNATIONAL
'Bringing back the 'Golden Era of Offshore AM Radio...'

Radio Mi Amigo International brings back that unique, warm AM Radio feel, inspired by legendary 60's and 70's offshore stations such as Radio Caroline, Radio London, Radio Mi Amigo and Radio Veronica.

Now 'Europe's NR.1 Oldies Station', the station is popular for its 'free radio' format, broadcasting a great selection of original pop music and shows in English, Dutch, French and German, via a powerful shortwave transmitter in the heart of Europe, like a modern day Radio Luxembourg.
Every day we bring you music and jingles from the Golden Era of offshore broadcasting, right across Europe and around the World. True 'Free Radio', with today's technology. No tight formats or playlists, just the best music
made and played between 1960 and 1988, handpicked by our DJ's.
Most of our DJ crew actually started their long careers on legendary pirate radio ships such as Radio Caroline's 'MV Mi Amigo', Swinging Radio England's 'Laissez-Faire' and Laser 558's 'Communicator'.
Put that amazing 24/7 Free Radio AM sound back into your life with fabulous live programmes every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on shortwave and online too.

Our station is named after the radio ship MV Mi Amigo, that broadcasted from the North Sea between 1958 and 1980. She was home to a.o. Radio Caroline, Radio Mi Amigo and also to many of our current crew...
Radio Mi Amigo International was never intended as a successor or continuation of the Flemish station from the 70s.
Even though there are certainly links from the past, the current station
is - just like Sylvain Tack's at the time - named after Radio Caroline's
radio ship 'Mi Amigo', which symbolises the origin of 'Free Radio'
and the rise of pop music and pop culture and where some of our DJs
themselves once started.
Radio Mi Amigo International is an international music station that has
been broadcasting for 9 years in 4 languages, via shortwave and
internet, aimed at listeners all over the world, who tune in mainly
because of the sophisticated cross-border international music selection
and international atmosphere.
The majority of listeners are located in countries or areas where
offshore radio stations have never been received - and where it is
mainly known as 'Europe's No. 1 Oldies Station - Bringing Back the
Golden Era of Offshore Free Radio'.
The English and French-language programmes are the most relevant
because they reach a larger international audience. The 2 Dutch-language
shows are therefore mainly strongly music-oriented, with quick restarts,
short text - and especially without Dutch-language music.
In recent years, however, many 'Mi Amigo-like' streams have been active
on the internet, all aimed at Flandres and that typical Flemish
atmosphere of that old station. The 9-year-old Radio Mi Amigo
International strongly distinguishes itself from this
